Angela R. Mingarelli
Angela is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Physiology interested in host-pathogen relationships. Her main research project is focused on allergic disease, specifically probing Th2 immune responses and the tissue specific signals that elicit their differentiation. She also studies immune responses in wild Hipposiderid bats using a combination of whole blood stimulations and RNA sequencing. In this context, she is also exploring the bat virome. She is also a co-host of the science podcast TWiV (This Week in Virology). In her free time, she enjoys anything aquatic and exploring nature with her dog, Odin.
